Welcome

You've been living with it for a long time.  Over the years professionals have given it many different names;

depression, anxiety, bi-polar, boderline, ocd and the list may go on and on.

You don't know which label is most accurate and at this point you really don't care

But you sure as hell know how it Feels!

   Sometimes it shows up in your Thoughts as if there's someone in there shouting at you, "you're not worthy", "can't you do anything right?" "no one likes you".

Then there is the way it affects your Emotions. Sometimes you witness yourself having very strong responses to situations and there's even a part of you puzzled  by the intensity of your response.  There's also the overwhelming sense of fear or the intense depth of sadness that seem to appear out of nowhere.

It even impacts you Physically.  Some days your body may feel so heavy and depleted of energy that just taking a shower feels like a Herculean effort.  It may also show up as frequent headaches, stomach problems, or chronic pain or illness

Over time you have made many efforts to reduce some of the discomfort you experience.  Some of them, like alcohol or drugs, food, self harm, may have provided some temporary relief.  But the relief was only temporary.  And now, not only do all those feelings you were trying to flee return, you also have to deal with the shame that comes after engaging in these acts.

Many of my clients have experienced the same feelings and struggles.  They have felt beyond the help of anyone and feared they would never feel comfortable in their own skin and feel any pleasure in their lives.

Like my clients you can feel better.  You have the ability to change your relationship with your past, your feelings and your experiences.  You are also capable of learning new ways to deal with situations.  You can experience some peace in your life.

Hi, I'm Beth

I have been providing therapy services in the Cleveland area since 1996.  I currently work individually with adults who are struggling with feelings of depression, anxiety and overwhelm, some of whom may have turned to addictive behaviors to manage these feelings.

I help people gain awareness of what keeps them stuck and discover the strengths they have within them to live more peacefully.
